This program is born out of the Christian Gospels and the Edmund Rice story. It is a similar charism to that of Edmund, which gives life and passion to the Mentoring Program - journeying with the disadvantaged and the displaced. Historically, some of the young adults involved with Edmund Rice Camps were looking for opportunities to support young people on a longer-term basis. It was decided that a pilot program could be based upon American mentoring experiences. After eighteen months, the Brothers decided to fund the program long-term. |
